ASP 101's Year in Review - A Look Back At 2004

As 2004 draws to a close, I once again find myself wondering where the year went. Here's a list of some of 2004's highlights here at ASP 101.

• Throughout 2004 we continued building our library of ASP.NET Samples: ASP.NET Sample Index

• In February I took some time off from the samples to write a short (and as it turned out extremely popular) article on the ASP.NET Repeater: The ASP.NET Repeater Web Server Control

• Our lessons didn't get as much attention as I had hoped they would, but I did manage to get a couple written:

  • Creating and Using Objects
  • Introduction to Inheritance in ASP.NET

• XML and RSS seemed to be all the rage:

  • XML to HTML (via XSL) Sample
  • Common Functions for Working with XML and XSL Files
  • XML to HTML (via XSL) ASP.NET Sample
  • A MegaTokyo RSS Feed Reader
  • An ASP.NET RSS Feed Reader
  We even joined in and finally published our own RSS feed: ASP 101 RSS Feed.

• September brought the largest change that ASP 101 had ever seen. We finally said goodbye to the original design that we had been using since we launched the site so many years ago. The yellow paper background that everyone seemed to either love or hate was finally laid to rest. Maybe it's just me, but I'm getting misty just thinking about it. It was the end of an era.  ;)

  ... and the beginning of a lot of headaches as I tried to wrangle everything into the new design.

• The last few months have brought some interesting tidbits that make it look like 2005 will be an interesting year indeed:
